I was supposed to be stripping the bed, but a sliver of soft light caught my eye—and all I could think about was photographing my coral sunset peonies.⁣ Most days I’d brush off the urge, telling myself later. Then the flowers would die, and I’d be mad that my ideas never get to breathe.⁣

That morning, over coffee, I was telling TJ I’ve been feeling like a chore machine more than a creative human living an actual life. ⁣
⁣
His response was simple as always - “You just need to do what you want.”⁣
⁣
So I paused. It only took 25 minutes 🫠. Luna joined me. She even edited her own version (see the last slide 😆💕).⁣
⁣
Creative impulses don’t knock—they land. Soft and ridiculous, like cartoon raindrops.⁣
⁣
I’ve promised myself to take a little break from the chaos of everyday to capture something beautiful, to practice a song, to craft or make what is not on the to do list - to dream a little baby dream into reality. ⁣
⁣
Because honestly - The alternative is becoming a bitter old martyr who let her creativity escape and blames the world for her misery. 🙃 (thank you no thank you!)⁣

Just a cutesy tootesy girl having cutesy tootesy Easter hunt with her cuzzies. 🐣🥰⁣ ⁣ So much happens behind the scenes raising an autistic child. The challenging details of our daily life may seem basic from the outside, but things most kids do naturally are often big milestones for us. ⁣ ⁣ There are many aspects of Luna that make me deeply vulnerable, and social situations are at the top of that list. It brings me infinite joy to watch her spend time with her family without anxiety and dysregulation. She’s developing more ease with to-way conversation and understanding her needs in a new and beautiful ways these days. ⁣ ⁣ I’m lucky to have such a loving and accepting family that makes an effort to include her and simultaneously giving her as much space as she needs. ⁣ ⁣ Feeling grateful to look back on these video clips and see her big heart and bright light shining on!
